This is a contribution model for attributed revenue. It does not establish incremental revenue or causal ROMI, and it does not deduct fixed overhead, taxes or financing costs. Zero denominators are shown as Not defined.

Formulas and assumptions

ROAS = revenue / ad spend. Contribution after marketing = revenue × contribution margin − ad spend − other marketing costs. Modeled contribution ROI = contribution after marketing / total marketing cost.

Break-even revenue = total marketing cost / contribution margin. Break-even ROAS = total marketing cost / (ad spend × contribution margin). Use a decimal margin in these formulas: 40% becomes 0.40.

At a zero margin and positive marketing cost, no finite revenue reaches break-even. At zero margin and zero marketing cost, break-even revenue is zero. The model holds the entered margin and costs fixed; recalculate when you change spend.
